Charity by Commitment
NetDAG makes a clear public pledge: we aim to donate 2% from defined ecosystem revenue streams to social impact.
We will publish reporting and wallet information so the community can track progress — and we plan to strengthen on-chain enforcement over time.
The Charity Model
Philanthropy isn’t an afterthought for NetDAG — it’s a long-term commitment tied to real utility.
As NetDAG’s products (Provenance, dVPN, and future modules) generate usage-based revenue, NetDAG will allocate
a consistent share to vetted causes.
Key idea: As the ecosystem grows, giving should scale with it. We prefer honest commitments and transparent reporting
over claiming “automatic” mechanisms before they are actually live and immutable.
How It Works: The 2% Giving Pledge
Important: the 2% pledge is currently a public policy commitment and is
not yet enshrined as an immutable, automatic smart-contract rule.
That means it is not programmatically forced on-chain in a way that can’t be changed.
- Pledge: We intend to allocate 2% of defined eligible ecosystem revenue streams to charity.
- Implementation: Executed via published wallets + reporting, and tightened over time as governance matures.
- Transparency goal: Provide periodic summaries with amounts, recipients, and transaction links.
- dVPN: A portion of usage-based revenue can be included in the eligible streams.
- Provenance: A portion of verification-related revenue can be included as adoption grows.
- Future modules: New products can adopt the same pledge and reporting framework.
Exact definitions (what counts as “eligible revenue”, timing, and custody controls) will be published alongside wallet addresses and dashboard links once live.
Transparency & Community Input
- Published wallets: Charity wallet address(es) will be disclosed so the community can monitor activity.
- Reporting: Periodic summaries of amounts, recipients, and impact KPIs (where available).
- Governance direction: As governance matures, the community can propose and vote on recipient shortlists.
- Verification: Recipient organizations may be vetted to reduce fraud and improve compliance readiness.
Road to stronger guarantees: Over time we plan to explore stronger mechanisms such as timelocked policies,
on-chain reporting modules, and (when safe) automated distribution components — but we won’t claim they exist until they do.
Turning Utility into Contribution
Businesses
Using NetDAG Provenance? A portion of eligible revenue can support vetted causes, creating measurable impact and a clearer trust story for customers.
Everyday Users
Using dVPN for privacy? As usage scales, the giving pledge scales too — privacy with purpose.
Over time, consistent contributions can compound into meaningful, verifiable impact —
a flywheel where utility supports resilience and resilience supports long-term giving.
